This high-density microbial fermentation system is optimized for fed-batch cultivation of engineered Escherichia coli, yeast and industrial strains, widely used for plasmid DNA, recombinant proteins, enzymes, biochemical raw materials and microbial bulk feedstock production.
The fermenter vessel and sanitary piping adopt electropolished 316L stainless steel construction with seamless orbital welding, supporting fully automated CIP cleaning and SIP sterilization and passing E&L evaluation, fully complying with biopharma and fine chemical GMP requirements. The upgraded agitation assembly and composite sparger deliver superior volumetric oxygen transfer coefficient (kLa), resolving oxygen shortage bottlenecks in late-stage high-cell-density cultivation and eliminating growth inhibition caused by anaerobic conditions.
Equipped with integrated real-time sensors for DO, pH, temperature, tank pressure, exhaust gas composition, liquid level and foam height, the system runs closed-loop automatic control of carbon/nitrogen source fed-batch feeding, pH neutralizer dosing and antifoam addition. It precisely regulates specific growth rate to restrain harmful metabolite accumulation such as acetic acid, greatly lifting final biomass concentration and target product yield compared with conventional fermentation equipment.
The PLC automation platform complies with ISA-88 batch control standards, supports custom fermentation strategy editing, unattended long-cycle continuous operation, real-time data trending and immutable audit trail storage, satisfying data integrity demands for quality tracing and regulatory audits. The skid-mounted integrated design completes full FAT testing before delivery, lowering on-site installation and validation workload.
With reliable geometric scale-up performance, the equipment smoothly transfers mature processes from lab screening and pilot trials to large-scale industrial mass production. It can be seamlessly connected with subsequent lysis, clarification, chromatography and concentration units to build a complete closed production line, effectively reducing tank occupation area, medium consumption and unit production costs.
