This fully automated chromatography column packing system is tailor-made for biopharmaceutical purification workshops, designed for consistent, repeatable packing of preparative-scale axial & radial flow chromatography columns used in monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, plasmid DNA, viral vectors and vaccine intermediate purification processes.
The system integrates buffer delivery pumps, precision pressure & flow sensors, automatic valve manifolds, column mounting fixtures and centralized control unit into one skid-mounted integrated unit. Following standardized packing recipes, it automatically completes resin slurry transfer, column loading, bed compression, flow-rate ramp-up, bed stability verification and performance qualification in sequence, fully replacing manual filling operations.
All wetted components are high-grade electropolished stainless steel, hygienic pipeline layout without dead legs, compatible with CIP/SIP on-site cleaning and sterilization, fully compliant with cGMP and ASME BPE requirements. Closed packing workflow avoids resin exposure to the ambient environment, preventing contamination and resin waste. Real-time monitoring of bed height, compression ratio, linear velocity and pressure drop automatically judges packing quality, rejects unqualified packed beds and ensures identical bed permeability and separation performance across different batches and columns.
The control system complies with ISA-88 batch management standards, stores multiple packing procedures for different types of agarose, silica and polymer-based chromatography media, generates complete electronic batch records and immutable audit trails, fully satisfying data integrity requirements for regulatory inspections and product filing.
After factory FAT acceptance testing, the unit can be quickly connected to existing purification lines. It drastically cuts resin consumption, reduces labor dependence, eliminates human operation deviation, stabilizes downstream purification yield and purity, and supports seamless scale-up from pilot columns to large industrial production columns, becoming key automated auxiliary equipment for modern continuous biomanufacturing plants.
